ClipAway allows you to reduce clipping in an audio file. Clipping is a recording artifact which occurs when a microphone senses input at a higher sound level than the microphone's maximum level. The correct amplitude cannot correctly be represented, and instead the amplitude is reduced to the clipping level. Clipping sounds similar to distortion but is not intentional and likely sounds unpleasant. Clipping occurs commonly in scenarios such as recording live concerts with mobile phones.
